How to get the winter shelters
Great! Thanks for caring for these community cats.
The shelters are stored at Custom Storage, Unit B15. The storage facility is located next to the American Legion (as you are looking at the American Legion from the street, Custom Storage is to the right), on State Road 44 (Miller Avenue). The storage unit is unlocked.
Please remember to close the door when you leave.
Make sure the shelter has enough straw. It should be filled 1/2 to 3/4. If not, you can add to it from the straw if there is any there.
When you place the shelter, put something heavy on top so the lid doesn’t blow off. even a $1 bag of rice or beans from Dollar Tree, ziplock bag of pennies, piece of tile, you get the idea.
We just ask that you let us know when you take from the stockpile so we can keep track of the supply. You can text us your name and how many you took to 317-364-4227.
Please help spread the word to others caring for outside cats so we can help as many cats as possible this winter.
Each shelter costs about $5 for construction, transport, and storage. The shelters are free to you, but if you’d like to pitch in toward the cost, we’d certainly appreciate it! A $10 donation means you can pay it forward to another cat in need.
